Paraffin wax, colorless to white translucent block, pure paraffin wax is white, paraffin wax containing impurities is yellow, tasteless and odorless, with a sense of satiny. Soluble in ether, chloroform, benzene, petroleum ether, volatile oil or various fatty oils, slightly soluble in ethanol. Its chemical properties are stable, and it does not react with acid, alkali, oxidant and reducing agent. It will turn yellow under ultraviolet irradiation, and it can be decomposed by combustion, and it is stable at room temperature. According to Beite Chemical, according to the refining degree of paraffin, paraffin can be divided into crude paraffin, semi-refined paraffin, fully refined paraffin and food wax.
