Zinc oxide (ZnO), commonly known as zinc white, is an oxide of zinc. Insoluble in water, soluble in acids and strong bases. Zinc oxide is a common chemical additive, widely used in plastics, silicate products, synthetic rubber, lubricating oil, paint coatings, ointment, adhesives, food, batteries, flame retardant and other products in the production. Zinc oxide has large band gap and exciton binding energy, high transparency, excellent luminescence performance at room temperature, and has been used in liquid crystal display, thin film transistor, light emitting diode and other products in the field of semiconductor. In addition, microgranular zinc oxide as a kind of nanomaterial also began to play a role in related fields

Product Application

 

Zinc oxide is a commonly used chemical additive, which is widely used in the production of plastics, silicate products, synthetic rubber, lubricating oil, paints, ointments, adhesives, foods, batteries, flame retardants and other products.

1. It can be used as vulcanizing activator, reinforcing agent and coloring agent for natural rubber, synthetic rubber and latex. Nano zinc oxide can enhance the physical properties of vulcanized rubber because of its fine particles and large specific surface area.

2.Second, it can be used as catalyst and desulfurizer. The high surface activity of nano-zinc oxide can improve the selectivity and catalytic efficiency of the catalyst.

3.Third, it can be used as filler, preservative and luminescent agent of coatings. Nano-zinc oxide has excellent ultraviolet shielding ability, which, in addition to the above properties, makes it have more outstanding characteristics in the aging resistance of coatings.

4.Fourth, it can be used as a flux for glass and ceramics. Nano-zinc oxide can reduce the sintering temperature of glass and ceramics because of its fine particles and high activity. In addition, the ceramic glaze prepared by nano-zinc oxide is smoother, and it has antibacterial, mildew-proof and deodorizing effects.

5. It is the main raw material of varistor in electronic industry, and also the main additive of magnetic and optical materials. Using nano-zinc oxide to prepare varistor not only has a lower sintering temperature, but also improves the performance of varistor, such as flow capacity and nonlinear coefficient. The application of nano-zinc oxide in optical devices will make a great breakthrough with the in-depth study of the optical properties of nano-zinc oxide. In addition, it can also be used as resist agent in printing and dyeing industry.
