Used IN THE production of surfactant (PINGJIA), resin, synthetic rubber, is the basic raw materials of cosmetics cream, emulsion, its thickening emulsion performance is stronger than hexanol, is a kind of emulsifying stabilizer. Cosmetic grade octadecanol can be used in advanced cosmetics, pure fragrance, can reduce the amount of essence. Antioxidant 1076(2082-79-3) can be prepared by reaction of octadecanol with methyl ester of β-(3, 5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl) propionate with sodium meth anol as catalyst and dimethyl sulfoxide as solvent at 130ºC for 2-3h. It is an excellent non - polluting non - toxic antioxidant. In addition, it can also be used to manufacture defoaming agent, flotation agent, softener, rice field insulation agent, water surface covering agent, pharmaceutical ointment raw materials and color film finisher.
