Paraffin wax is a strange wax, white or yellowish translucent, which is extracted from certain products of petroleum, shale oil, or other bituminous mineral oils and has a fairly distinct crystal structure.
Paraffin wax is a kind of mineral wax, is also a kind of petroleum wax, it is from the distillation of cru de oil oil distillate by solvent refining, solvent dewaxing or by wax freezing crystallization, press dewaxing to make wax paste, and then by solvent deoiling, refining and the flake or needle crystal, also known as crystal wax. The main quality indicators are melting point and oil content, the former indicating temperature resistance, the latter indicating purity.
Mainly used for food and other commodities (such as waxed paper, crayons, candles, carbon paper) components and packaging materials, baking containers for dressing cosmetics raw materials, for fruit preservation, improve rubber aging resistance and increase flexibility, electrical components insulation, precision casting and other aspects, can also be used for oxidation to produce synthetic fatty acids.
Liquid paraffin, commonly known as white oil, is a colorless transparent liquid that can be used as a transparent internal lubricant for PVC, with a dosage of about 0.5 parts.
Solid paraffin, also known as natural paraffin, white solid, can be used as an external lubricant for PVC, the amount of 0.1 to 1.0, the amount is too large to affect transparency.
Microcrystalline wax, also known as high melting point paraffin wax, the appearance of white or light yellow solid, because of the fine crystal known as microcrystalline wax. The lubrication effect and thermal stability are better than other paraffins. In PVC, the amount is small, generally 0.1 to 0.2 copies.
Chlorinated paraffin, good compatibility with PVC, poor transparency, and other lubricants with good effect. Dosage below 0.3 is appropriate.
Paraffin wax, also known as crystalline wax, hydrocarbon mixture with carbon atom number of 18~30, the main group is divided into straight chain alkanes (about 80%~95%), and a small number of alkanes with individual branch chains and single ring cycloalkanes with long side chains (the combined content of both is less than 20%). Paraffin wax is a flake or acicular crystal obtained from cru de oil distillation and lubricating oil distillate by solvent refining, solvent dewaxing or by wax freezing crystallization, pressing dewaxing, and then deoiling, supplemented by refining. According to the different degree of processing and refining, it can be divided into three kinds: fully refined paraffin, semi-refined paraffin and crude paraffin. Each type of wax is divided into different varieties according to the melting point, generally every 2 ° C, such as 52,54,56,58 and other brands.
